- Welcome to the second meeting of spring term! The rest of our meetings will be held in our usual room 122 in the Knight Library.
- We want to get a book and film loan going between group members! If you’ve recently read or watched a book or movie related to health or social justice, you should bring it to our next meeting and make an announcement to the group. We’re also working on a recommended reading/viewing list for the website! Check it out soon!
- UPCOMING EVENT: Michael Kaplan, Director of Cascade AIDS and speaker at our recent AIDS in Africa conference, will be speaking in Eugene on April 29th. Contact Matt Jones matt@uoglobalhealth.org if you want to go. We’ll be carpooling to the event!
- UPCOMING EVENT: Seattle Pacific University is holding a micro finance conference for students and professionals this May 8-9th. If there is enough group member interest, we’ll be taking a roadtrip up to Seattle for the weekend! Again, contact Matt if you’re interested.
- UPCOMING EVENT: On May 7, in place of our normal meeting we will meet in front of the library and walk to Mac court to hear Greg Mortenson, co-author & subject of the famous book, “Three Cups of Tea.” Get your free tickets here (http://www.tickets.uoregon.edu/3cups) before the meeting!
- FUNDRAISER: We had sign ups for the bake sale that was Friday the 17th in front of the bookstore! We plan on having at least 2 more bake sales this term to help raise money for Deo’s Village Health Works organization!
- FUNDRAISER: Next Thursday April 23rd is our Pancake night outside of Rennies bar. Contact Caitlin Conrad cconrad@uoregon.edu for more info/volunteer info!!
- PIN APPRECIATION: Every Monday in front of the EMU. Wearing a pin? You get a free cookie. We’ll have sign-ups for pin appreciation each Thursday meeting before Monday’s tabling. Contact Vanessa Williams vwillia1@uoregon.edu if you want to table, but can’t make it to a meeting!
- ELECTIONS: We had elections for the board of directors of the 2009-2010 school year and your board for ‘09-’10 is… CO DIRECTORS: Caitlin Conrad & Michelle Leis, DIRECTOR OF FINANCE: Matt Jones, DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION: McKenzie Becker, DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS & OUTREACH: Kelly Moon & Angela Kohama.
- We have our FACE AIDS t-shirts finally! If you weren’t at the meeting and ordered a shirt, email Matt to pick it up.
- We wrote a few thank you cards to speakers and some conference organizers. If you wanted to sign or write a note on one of the cards, contact Michelle Leis michelle@uoglobalhealth.org
