- PANCAKE NIGHT II WRAP-UP: If you’re missing any items that we used for the Pancake fundraiser contact Caitlin at cconrad@uoregon.edu. Pancake Night II was not as successful as the first, so we’ve decided to indefinitely cancel any future pancake nights. Please let Caitlin know if you have any suggestions for future fundraising events that may be similar.
- BENEFIT CONCERT JUNE 6TH: SGH is having one final fundraising event this Saturday June 6th at Agate Hall. The week prior we will have a large publicity push, and we need your help! We’ll be selling pre-sale tickets, tabling several times the week before, and we will have a bake sale the week before to offset the cost of renting Agate Hall. Please contact Michelle at michelle@uoglobalhealth.org if you’d like to help with this event!
- BENEFIT CONCERT JOBS: Thus far we’ve divided up jobs for the concert as follows: McKenzie/Vanessa (Make large butcher paper sign for tabling), Kelly (make pre-sale tickets), Vanessa (set up bake sale table & volunteers), Angela/McKenzie (distribute flyers in community), Matt (distribute dorm posters), Caleb (get announcement at Africa night), Everyone (invite friends to facebook group), Alex (design & print posters), Erin (get email sent over African Studies listserv).
- MOUNTAINS BEYOND MOUNTAINS: The Honors College will definitely have required reading of Mountains Beyond Mountains for incoming freshmen thanks to our Director Alex. SGH will possibly be involved with facilitating discussion of the book, workshops and a speaking event by author Tracy Kidder next fall. Caleb will take over as director of this project in Alex’s absence.
- BRAINSTORM SESSION FOR NEXT YEAR: Next year we hope to have these events headed by these people: Winter speaker series (Michelle), Dodgeball Tournament Fundraiser (Caleb), Mountains Beyond Mountains Project (Caleb), 5k Run/Walk for AIDS (Kelly/Emily H.), World AIDS Day Concert (Caitlin). Please let us know if you have any other great ideas and would like to head them up!
