Introduction, Question of the Day
Agenda
Welcome to a new term of Students for Global Health!
Goals for the New Term
- Direct more attention on education rather than solely fundraising
- Assist and/or fundraise for homeless population in Lane County
- Share individual experiences of community-service more extensively during meetings
Agenda
- Brainstorm potential fundraising ideas for Nyamirama Health Center for Winter Term. The theme for the month of December is Medicine and Treatment. Check out the interactive description on the FACE AIDS website!
- Winter Concert for FACE AIDS and the Nyamirama Health Center is scheduled for March 16th, 2012. This time the benefit concert will be taking place at the Campbell Club co-operative living house. If you have ideas or suggestions about musical acts contact Sarra Khlifi, Events Director of SGH.
- Ideas for a community art project promoting health or social justice? Bring any and all thoughts on the matter to our weekly meetings every Wednesday.
- Come join Students for Global Health at our table on Tuesday, January 24th during the Sustainability Fair in the EMU. SGH will be tabling from 12 PM-4PM, so if you have a break between classes make sure to head over and lend your support!
- On Friday, January 27th Scott Tschida is hosting a group potluck at his house around 6 PM. If you have any additional questions, direct them to Scotty at our next meeting in Gerlinger 242.
Special thanks to Maithri Sarang for her presentation about her trip to Peru with the organization Medlife! If you missed last week’s meeting, make sure to talk to Maithri about the amazing work she and other dedicated individuals were doing over the Winter break through community development projects and mobile clinics.
