Announcements

  • CAER (Coalition Against Environmental Racism) is hosting a screening of the film Crude on January 26th from 7PM-9PM. Head out to Friendly 106 to learn more about the legal battle against Chevron and the pollution taking place in the Amazon River. Check out the official trailer to get a better look at what will be shown.
  • Our very own University Health Center is open weekdays from 9 AM-5 PM for all your medical needs! If you’d like to get more actively involved in issues regarding health on our campus check out the Peer Health Internship and the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC).

Volunteers in Medicine (Quick Facts)

  • Volunteers in Medicine provides a free, comprehensive program of primary care, mental health services, prescription assistance, laboratory services, and women’s health care to low-income Lane County adults who have no health insurance and are ineligible for government health care programs.
  • Over 73,000 residents of Lane County are living without health insurance.
  • 75% of VIM clients claim unemployment benefits as sole means of income. Despite this staggering statistic, patients donated $27,000 back to the hospital last year.
  • VIM Eugene has a core staff of 13 employees and 62 volunteer doctors.
